Why does Fragrance contain alcohol?
Alcohol makes the Fragrance radiate from your skin. Without alcohol you would be the only person knowing you are wearing the Fragrance at all.
What do top, middle and base notes mean?
Fragrances are described in a musical figure of speech as having three sets of “Notes”, making the harmonious scent accord. The notes unfold over time, with the immediate impression of the top note leading to the deeper middle notes, and the base note gradually appearing as the final stage. These notes are created carefully with knowledge of the evaporation process of the Fragrance.
What are Middle Notes?
This is when the scent of a Fragrance comes forward just prior to when the top notes dissipate. The middle note compounds form the “heart” or main body of a Fragrance and act to mask the often unpleasant initial impression of base notes, which become more pleasant with time. They are also called the “heart notes”. The middle note begins after about 10-15 minutes and lasts for about an hour.
Where should I apply my Fragrance?
Apply directly to your pulse points: Inside the wrist, behind the ears, at the temples, the back of the neck and the cleavage area.
Fragrances rise, so don’t overlook your legs, knees, thighs, feet and ankles.
Never rub perfume on the skin.
Don’t put on perfume if you’re sunbathing.
Try not to get perfume on your clothes and never on silk.
What are Top Notes?
The scents that are perceived immediately on application of a Fragrance are called “top notes”. Top notes consist of small, light molecules that evaporate very quickly. They form a person’s initial impression of a Fragrance. Top notes are also referred to as head notes. Top notes last just a few minutes (5-10 minutes).
What are Base Notes?
These are the scent of a Fragrance that appears close to the departure of the middle notes. The base and middle notes together are the main theme of a Fragrance. Base notes bring depth and solidity to a Fragrance. Compounds of this class of scents are typically rich and “deep” and are usually not perceived until 30 minutes after application. The base note is the final and longest lasting expression of a perfume and lasts for several hours.
